curing time of powder coating

The thermosetting powder coating is exposed to a high molecular weight polymer network like structure when the temperature is raised, it begins to melt, flow out, and then chemically react to form a high molecular weight polymer network. This is referred to as crosslinking, curing process, which requires a certain length of time at a certain temperature to achieve complete cure, and to establish the integrity of the membrane material design properties. Typically, the powder is cured at 200 degrees C (390 degrees F) for 10 minutes. Depending on the manufacturer's specifications, the curing schedule may be different.

The application of energy, to cure the product, can be cured by convection oven or infrared curing oven.
